I'm excited to announce that we have our third literary reading coming up December 11, 2010 at 2pm. It will be held at the Gallerie 13 in Mechanicsburg, PA.

So what might you expect at the event? Authors reading their own work with flare, inspiration for your own craft, and a great time socializing with local artists. We offer light refreshments and this time, we'll even have live music. It's a great opportunity to meet other writers and get away from your computer or paper and pen.

So as we're putting this site together, I'm finding more and more to love about having a site focused only on writing. Sure, I have a blog. And I have facebook and twitter. But better yet, I have a site dedicated to the craft that haunts me, day and night. It's a good thing.

Mechanicsburg, PA November 14, 2009 -- Turning his humorous prose into galactic guffaws, Mike Silvestri entertains his audiences once more with It Came from Beyond the Sun: an Anthology of Tabloid Sci Fi. Written with Mike’s classic dry humor, this collection of short stories has a little bit of everything, from cranky space alien spouses to Viagra-seeking menaces that will stop at nothing for their, ah, fix.

Want an opportunity to meet this master of scientific sarcasm? Check out the Mechanicsburg Mystery Bookshop on November 22, 2009 at 2pm. Enjoy light refreshments, the company of others readers, and a chance to meet this amazing writer. He’ll be selling and signing his current and previous books, and who knows...maybe he’ll offer a sneak peak at his up and coming novel, The Gospel of Matthias Kent.

About Mike Silvestri: Mike is well-known to sci-fi fans. He’s been published in the Sun, as well as having several novels and anthologies under his moonbelt. He’s also an intersteller diplomat for Pennwriters writing group, and divides his time between his home in Central PA with his family, and his imagination on various planets beyond our meager realm.

BookEnds, LLC has a great article on the writing process, and how to accept and enjoy the way YOU write a book, and not focus on the fact that your writing style is different than big author so-so's.

Yes, I know the title is a bit screwy. My dear friend Jess is working on it, and will have it in shape in no time. Meanwhile...have you checked out your friend's Nanowrimo word counts? Check 'em out here.
